Cookie policy
Last updated: 2 October 2026
Cookies are small text files your browser stores for a website. Permit Radar uses as few as possible.
Essential cookies (always on)
These are needed for the app to work and for your security. The law allows them without consent (§ 25(2) TDDDG), so we do not ask.
| Cookie | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
pr_at |
Keeps you signed in (short-lived access token) | 15 minutes |
pr_rt |
Renews your sign-in without asking for your password (only sent to the sign-in service) | 30 days |
pr_session |
Tells the app you are probably signed in, so it can show the right page. Contains only "1". | 30 days |
pr_csrf |
Protects your account from forged requests by other websites | 30 days |
pr_consent |
Remembers your choice in the cookie banner | 12 months |
pr_lang |
Remembers your language (English or German) | 12 months |
pr_dev |
A random device ID, set when you sign in. If your account is signed in from a device it has not seen before, we email you, so you notice if someone else uses your password. | 2 years |
Analytics cookie (only with your consent)
| Cookie | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
pr_vid |
A random ID that lets us count returning visitors. It is not linked to your name or email. | 12 months |
With this cookie we store: the random ID, the page visited or button clicked, the time, and a one-way hash of your network address with the last part removed. We do not use third-party analytics, ads or tracking pixels.
Without consent
If you click Reject, or never choose, we do not set pr_vid. We still count visits and clicks as plain numbers per page or button per day, with no cookie and no identifier.
Browser storage
We keep two small flags in your browser storage, never on our servers: that you dismissed the disclaimer banner for this session, and that you finished the guided tour. They contain no personal data and are needed for the page to behave as you chose.
Third parties
The bot check on the sign-in and sign-up pages (Cloudflare Turnstile) does not set tracking cookies. See section 7 of the privacy policy.
Changing your mind
- Signed in: Settings, Privacy, "Analytics cookie" switch.
- Not signed in: clear the
pr_consentcookie in your browser and the banner appears again.
Withdrawing consent deletes the analytics events linked to your pr_vid and removes the cookie.
