Terms of use
Last updated: 2 October 2026
These terms apply to Permit Radar ("the service"), provided by Akram El Basri, Huntemannstraße 2, Apt. 02/0209, 26131 Oldenburg, Germany ("we", "us"). By creating an account you accept them.
1. A free student project
Permit Radar is a free, non-commercial student project. It is provided free of charge, without ads and without any paid features, and is intended to stay free. There is no contract for payment. Because the service is free, it is provided as a gratuitous favor (unentgeltliche Leistung), and the liability rules in section 5 apply.
2. What Permit Radar is
A personal tracking tool. It helps you record the days and hours you work, compare them with a limit you enter yourself, and remember expiry dates and appointments.
3. What Permit Radar is not
Permit Radar does not provide legal advice and no legal services within the meaning of the Rechtsdienstleistungsgesetz (RDG). We are not lawyers and not an authority.
- Numbers, colors, forecasts and dates are estimates, calculated only from the data and rules you enter.
- Suggested limits and hints about exemptions are general information. They may be wrong, incomplete or outdated, and may not apply to your case.
- Laws, administrative practice and the conditions on your permit can change at any time.
- Reading a payslip is automatic and can be wrong. You must check every value before saving it.
4. Your responsibility
You alone are responsible for:
- entering accurate and complete data and limits;
- checking the conditions on your own residence permit;
- verifying your work-day count and your status with the Ausländerbehörde, your university's International Office, or a lawyer before making any decision.
Never rely on Permit Radar as your only source when deciding whether to accept work, sign a contract, or take any step that affects your residence status.
5. Liability
We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and under the Produkthaftungsgesetz. For slight negligence we are liable only for breach of an essential obligation, limited to the typical, foreseeable damage. Because the service is free, liability for defects and wrong information is otherwise limited to intent and gross negligence (§§ 521, 524 BGB by analogy).
In particular, we are not liable for decisions you make based on estimates shown in the service, including consequences under residence, employment, tax or social security law.
6. Availability
The service is offered as is, without any guaranteed availability. We may change, pause or end it at any time. If we end it, we will tell you at least 30 days in advance so you can download your data.
7. Your account
- You must be at least 16 years old.
- Give a valid email address and confirm it.
- Keep your password secret. You are responsible for activity under your account.
- One person per account. Accounts may not be shared, sold or used by automated scripts.
8. Security monitoring
To protect the service and its users, we monitor how accounts and networks use it. We record sign-ins, failed sign-in attempts, password changes, the number of requests per day, blocked requests and other security events, the area of the app a flagged request went to, your last activity time, and the change history of your data. IP addresses are stored only as one-way hashes. Details, legal basis and retention are in the privacy policy.
9. Fair use
- Each account and network has request limits. Requests above the limits are refused.
- Prohibited: automated access, scraping, load testing, probing for vulnerabilities, bypassing limits or security checks, accessing other users' data, uploading files that are not your own payslips, and uploading malicious files.
10. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or ban an account, or block a network, if we reasonably believe it breaches these terms, endangers the service or other users, or is used unlawfully. We may take the service offline temporarily, for example during an attack or maintenance.
You can delete your account at any time in Settings. Deletion is immediate and permanent.
Accounts without sign-in for 5 months receive a warning email and are deleted 30 days later unless you sign in.
11. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. We will tell you by email or in the app at least 30 days before material changes take effect. If you do not agree, you can delete your account.
12. Law
German law applies. If you are a consumer, the mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live still apply. We do not take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
