Questions

How many days can international students work in Germany?

Many student residence permits allow 140 full days or 280 half days of work per year. The exact rule is on your permit, and some permits differ. Permit Radar lets you enter your limit and tracks it. Always confirm with your Ausländerbehörde or International Office.

What counts as a half day?

Commonly a working day of up to 4 hours. In Permit Radar you can set the cutoff yourself, so the count matches what your permit or office says.

Do HiWi jobs count toward the limit?

Student assistant jobs at your university often do not count, but it depends on your case. Ask your International Office before relying on it.

What happens to my payslip?

It is read in memory and deleted within seconds. We keep only the dates and hours you confirm. Your tax ID, IBAN, salary and address are never stored.

Is it really free, and is it legal advice?

Free, yes: a non-commercial student project with no ads and no paid plans. Legal advice, no: it is a calculator and reminder tool that gives estimates. For decisions about your status, talk to your Ausländerbehörde or International Office.
